Hi,

I am new to this mailing list but have been reading the newsgroup postings on
RedHat Linux compliance to the Year 2000. I was wondering if someone could help
me clarify some of what I think I am hearing. Basically, I have an older Dell
PC, 1993 vintage, that is not compliant. My understanding from my mailing
list/newsgroup readings is that Linux is itself as an OS 2000 compliant, that
upon bootup of course the PC will not be but once Linux takes over, with some
clock setup, it will be 2000 compliant. My understanding is also that the issue
remains about the compliance of a wide variety of applications available for
Linux.
Bottom line: what if anything do I need to do to get myself compliant to 2000
for the OS. Applications, I'm sure, will sorting themselves out for years to
come.
