hi ,
i have an asus sc875 ( symbios 875 chip)
it etects as an ncr 53x875 or something alike
rehdat installs
but when it ends it asks should i use linear mode
what does it mean exactly ?
secondly i said no and what it did it took 20 minutes to boot the kernel
and all and htne it seemed to work sort of fine ...
however the boot procdess keeps taking forever !!1
FYI i have an quantum atlas I 4.3 gig UWscsi and a yamaha cdr100 scsi2
the wuantum is an old model ( fast wide ) and i think it is 20 megs /sec
in wide mode ... but i am not sure .. not really an ultra
drive model is xp 434xx
anyone any ideas ?
PS if i was to get another scsi controller in the near future what are the
most supported ones for linux ( wide ones- UW)
in which order :)
