AMD just announced a new processor - the K6-2. Since I was looking at a K6
for a Linux system, this gives me something else to think about.

AMD has a compatibility guide on their website. It lists the following as
compatible:

Linux 1.0.9
Linux Sam Publishing
Linux Sam Publishing v3.0

I have two ?'s.

1) If it is compatible with Linux 1.0.9 (I assume that refers to the kernel
version), should it be compatible with a later kernel version such as
2.0.32? I assume that it would be since the original K6 lists the same
version of Linux as compatible and I have heard of AMD-K6 success stories
with RH.

2) What the heck is Linux Sam Publishing? Are they referring to the Linux
CDs that come bundled with those lInux books? Don't those books usually
conatin a derivative of RH, Slackware, or some other disribution?

Just wondering.
