Log into the machine(s) you wish to have root login as. From the comman
line type 'tty' (without the quotes). Make a note of the outcome e.g :-
>tty
/dev/ttyp0
Add the result to your /etc/securetty file. In this example you would
add ttyp0. Now logout and login again as root. This should work!
As an added note, logging in as root is not the best for security. You
are wiser to log in as a user and su to root. Much safer.
