Hi folks,

I'm about to compile and install my first kernel (2.0.33) on my Redhat 5.0
installation.

I've read evrything I can find on the process and I have my source
in-hand.

The compilation itself seems largely straightforward (I think)...I'm a
little nervous about the install.

Does anyone have any suggestions or pointers they want to pass on?

I currently have LILO installed (not on the MBR). I thought that I might
add the new kernal to LILO so I can select the old one if there is a
disaster. I am also considering placing my old kernel on a floppy
(although frankly I found those instructions somewhat confusing).

Thanks in advance!

Jil
