I'm having a problem with Communicator 4.04-3 on my system. I'm a fresh
install of Red Hat 5.0. If I go to any web site, my fonts become
munged. I mean, all my X-Window fonts. The title bars on xterms get
whacked, the fonts within the browser get whacked, the fonts on menus
get whacked. The fonts within xterms don't, however. If I shutdown X,
I'm OK until I start Communicator again. I'm set up like this:
Metro-X server configured for Generic S3 ViRGE running at 32K colors,
1024x768 phys. res., 1152x864 virt. res., 4M RAM.
Generic S3 ViRGE/DX card with 4M RAM.
Gateway Vivitron 1572 monitor.
Afterstep WM.
Any ideas?
Also, I downloaded rvplayer-5.0-2.i386.rpm.rhmask-5 from the directory
/pub/redhat/updates/real/i386 on Red Hat's ftp server, but it won't
install via RPM. RPM says it's not an RPM file, and running "file"
against it says it's data. What to do? I'd check the errata at the web
site if I could read it, but X gets all messed up when I run
Communicator. Can't read squat. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Mike
