Redhat Linux, Pretty Well maintained but can be buggy (altho bugs like with
other distributions are fixed quickly)
First to incorprate Redhat package manager(RPM) for some
reason ;o,
RPM seems to work better than with any other distributions
that use it.
Caledra, Designed for the Buisness needing a Linux Based server, Pretty
Stable bugs are almost non existant
The 'Free' lite Version tends to be a little out of date (version
i got in Feb was from June last year)
SuSe, Massive support of ISDN, has KDE pre installed which evryone seems to
be adding,
Very good documentation but be prepaired to read SOME German as the
english verison isn't quite complete
Has a nice System configurator/setup program(Yast) But it doesent
have GLIBC which is bad in some respects,
FreeBSD, This is based on AT&T's unix6 or whatever its called, this tends
to be More stable than Linux,
Better on compiling software BUT its much harder to install and
supports a lot less hardware
due to the fact its more aimed at the High trafic/use Server thus
would tend to have the best parts
Placed into it,
In General,
Get FreeBSD if its for a networking server etc..
Get Caledara for a less powefull more userfriendly server
Get Redhat For Ease of use
Get SuSe if your a total novice looking for something that resembles
micr$oft windows, or if you want to have
Evrything.
