I'm interested to know about your experience. I use rhel3 and ran into a similar problem. BUT it wasn't a problem when I first started R-2.6.0. I've looked through archives and found that people had a similar problem with Gentoo Linux which was fixed by some X.org rejigging. But that was with earlier versions of R which never posed a problem for me (nor for you it would seem). I suspect that there's a package I updated which has screwed up things. If you've only recently installed 2.6.0, I suspect you would already have the updated (i.e. buggy) package. Any evidence to support my hypothesis? best -- ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~. ___ Patrick Connolly {~._.~} Great minds discuss ideas _( Y )_ Middle minds discuss events (:_~*~_:) Small minds discuss people (_)-(_) .....
