'Use packages or if you wish to still compile from ports, use
OpenBSD_4_5 tag and go... '
I don't blame someone - nor maintainer. *I always respect their
(maintainers') efforts.* I just wanted to report, and think possibly
advises.

OpenOffice is possibly the most complex and delicate port to compile,
with many, many, dependencies. It is usually not worth the maintainer
time to hand hold someone through the process instead of keeping
the package current.
Since the packages are being built all the time in basically an
endless loop, rest assured that compile issues like this would be
noticed and fixed without further ado.
