Why aren't you using packages?
Dear Antoine,
I thought that the part of the testing process was to make sure that
ports compile properly. The machine that I use for work
run 4.2 Stable and pre-compiled packages except when packages are
unavailable. True, I could use the snapshot of packages too. In a day or
two when I have time again I will bring the whole system to current and
update port tree. I will try then again to compile HPLIP. At least, I
know that sane-backhands are updated to the most recently released
version and fully functional( for me at least).
I probably made some mistakes in updating port three. It is also
possible that the Paython port was in the process of updating
and I just chose the wrong time to compile HPLIP. Anyhow, the machine
used for the above is dedicated entirely for testing new OpenBSD
packages. My knowledge is very modest but I am trying to help as much as
I can the project I love and use every day.
Cheers,
Predrag
