I think we should land this. There's been a massive amount of work that went into this update. The patches look good to me and the old port was on life support for way too long. If there is anything that needs fixing, I think we can as well address that in tree. I am going to commit this in a few days unless I hear objections. I'm of course also happy if someone commits with my ok.
