> man1p/awk.1p just commenting on the output, net whether the source is `correct', but my experience with the awk manual is the the mandoc ouput and cat file are pretty much the same. in both, the table is too wide for 80 columns and wraps, making it impossible to read, but again, in both, its fine if you use a wider terminal. not ideal, but i dont see groff formatting it any better. but i see you are worried about whether mandoc really understands it.
