GTK2 library in redhat-base?

I attempted to install the Linux version of Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0.8, & 
received a dialog stating that it required version 2.4 or higher of the GTK 
library which I assume is installed in the redhat-base package.  Is this 
updated often?  Thanks.
