After reading all the e-mails I think that:

a) you should take TIME to add new functions
b) these changes should be the beginning.

In fact I like OpenBSD but I like the package-management
of Debian a lot even I don't like Debian that much.

So if you wanna include such a new sheme and if many
people think it's usefull then do it but do it wisely.
usr/ports/infrastructure/build/out-of-date was rewritten in
Perl and is still buggy. So if you wanna change something then
please take your time...!

And if you're thinking about changes: Think about a
way to make the ports more secure.
For now somebody could modify the distfile/Makefle of a Port
and OpenBSD would install e.g. a corrupt Version of the Software.
And doing a REFETCH=true all the day long isn't realy the best Version.

And because somebody said if you'll download the whole package before it's
getting checked: A better (but then mostly slower) compression-algorithm
would reduce the load of the Servers for sure.
But IF the whole package would be downloaded before it's getting checked
somebody could get the idea that we could use gzsig to sign the packages.
But that wouldn't make the ports more secure..

Changing the name-sheme like explained (in other mails before) is a good
idea in my oppinion but please take some time and think realy about it.
To get something good.

Kind regards,
Sebastian

p.s.
And maybe it fixes realy the "Why do I get error-msgs when I install XYZ
for current on my N.N OpenBSD"-problem.
