What I remember from past Clinics that I participated in was that helper
and helpees tended to pair off, and that pairing sort of happened
organically, based on what the helpees thought they wanted and what the
helpers were comfortable with, and it all kind of just worked out. I'm
not sure it needs a lot of over-thinking. Sometimes, spare helpers just
watched, tossing in suggestions when things got stuck, or learning
something they'd never seen before.
I think the main challenge this first go-around is going to be
remembering how to do it, what materials we actually need on hand, and
maybe bringing install media so we don't spend the whole time
downloading. It might be worth considering having some kind of NAS where
we can share install iso's or what have you, locally.
Realize we are walking into a space with surfaces, a wifi network and
not much else. Anything else you think you might need (spare USB boot
media? monitor/keyboard/mouse?) is either going to have to come from the
helpee or the community of helpers and what they are bringing with them.
I'm going to handle providing an "adapter" to the wifi, so ethernet will
also be available.
I have started some notes in an etherpad. If you are planning to come be
a helper, and have things to bring, please add yourself and what you are
bringing:

I included a heading for things we discover at the event that we SHOULD
have brought.
