[PLUG] question on linux formatting tool

Occasionally I post to Facebook, but everytime I drop in text, for 
example, from LibreOffice, instantly the bold formats, colored text, are 
all removed and bland text results. Does anyone know what linux UTF-8 
editor will work, such that edited text can be copied from the mouse and 
dropped straight into the Facebook post?

I have tried some but so far have failed 100%. The only one which worked 
was some online tool, and I had to copy the converted text. Needless to 
say, I don't want my information being copied by some online site and 
sent to digital archives around the world.

Does anyone know an editor which will work? I tried SeaMonkey, but 
dropping the formatted text did not work, everything format was cleansed 
and only bland text was left in the post.
