Related to that is... Yes, although here it's still the plan, so I don't need convincing. I have started on making use of KAccounts actually, but currently, the code is just as much in limbo as the whole owncloud, nextcloud situation. I'm planning to talk to both and sure that the only way to not make the mess they created with the fork bearable for a downstream like us is to keep both implementations fully compatible. I don't know how realistic that is, but it's pretty clear that that would make *cloud support in Plasma a lot more likely to happen.
