eheh - then let's change the notifications to use window type notification as a first step. That's what it got introduced for. Whether OSD should be above active fullscreen windows or not is nothing I want us developers to decide. Let's take it to the forums and start looking at the use cases and whether we should have an OSD on top fullscreen windows (e.g. I think volume changes in a video player is wrong, that should be handled by the video player). If the outcome is a change, then let's do it properly by introducing another type and layer - I don't want to semantically abuse types as we used to. I want to have Plasma pass as much information to KWin as possible - we need that for the Wayland world anyway where Plasma cannot just bypass the window manager. Cheers Martin
