From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Operating system: Win2000 PHP version: 4.0.6 PHP Bug Type: Documentation problem Bug description: More information needs to be added
When installing PHP 4.0.6 on Win2000 and IIS 5, I ran into a snag that kept a coworker and me occupied for about 6 hours. It's not really a bug, but there's another step that needs to be added to the installation instructions. After moving php.ini to its correct folder, one must set the permissions to be readable by Everyone. Otherwise, IIS will not be able to read it and PHP will use the default options. This caused an especially large problem in Win2k, since the default folders are all unix-style. Most of our code worked, but features such as sessions choked. Please add the permission change to the installation instructions. -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=16336&edit=1 -- Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=16336&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=16336&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=16336&r=needtrace Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=16336&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=16336&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=16336&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=16336&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=16336&r=submittedtwice
