There's so much in the frame that I have no idea how the meter is weighing
the importance of difference segments.  Center-weighted metering systems
are very easy to understand once you spend enough time with them.<

i have very seldom run into situations where evaluative metering hasn't
handled the problem with 1/3 and 2/3 stop bracketing in each direction (5
exposures total). even with spot metering, i would do the same in the same
lighting conditions. this includes sunsets into the sun with my Sigma
15-30mm zoom, all shot on slide film. i shoot at least half the time at
24mm and wider on my lenses. even when i am certain the meter isn't being
fooled, i bracket anyway, just in case i decide i like the changed
saturation better when looking at them on the light table.
