There are other uses for the wide aperture other than just weight.
Here is an example of utilizing the narrow DOF available to the F2
lens:

Also, I found that doing night photography, the ability to see and
focus was far easier with my 24/2 than my 20/2.8.  In the dim/dark
every little bit helps.

Based on what I read from you, though, you should stick with the K
version as that is what you really seem to enjoy.  A piece of
equipment that is more capable, but not enjoyable to use is not as
good as something that you truly love.  I much prefer using my 67II
over my MZ-S even though the MZ-S can run circles around my 67II for
features.
