This effect can be seen in a couple of comparison images I have available: http://www.cetussoft.com/pentax/85compar/85boston.jpg shows identical portions of the Boston skyline at infinity of seven Pentax 85's, while http://www.cetussoft.com/pentax/85compar/85bricks.jpg shows identical portions of a brick wall taken at the same "portrait distance" with the same seven Pentax 85's. It can be seen that he FA* 85/1.4 differs significantly from the other six at closer focus distances.
