I came across Darktable purely by accident. The blurb said it was better
than Lightroom in many respects so I just wondered if any of you boffins
had tried it. If the UI is as poor as some of you say, I wont bother
with it.

but the user interface would take more than a bit of getting used to
and there were more intuitive programs out there. As it is I'm still
using DxO Optics Pro. 9 which still does everything I need it to do,
and for anything it can't do with it,I can use my old version of
Photoshop CS2.
Personally if I were going to use a "Free" raw processing program, I
think I'd go with Raw Therapee. The interface is more like what I'm
used to and they seem to cover all current Pentax camera bodies, so I
would expect them to support pretty much everything else.
