I don't use Darktable per se, I downloaded it to evaluate alternate raw rendering software, quite some time ago, and still have it installed on my desktop.  My opinion at the time was that it worked but the user interface would take more than a bit of getting used to and there were more intuitive programs out there. As it is I'm still using DxO Optics Pro. 9 which still does everything I need it to do, and for anything it can't do with it,I can use my old version of Photoshop CS2.

Personally if I were going to use a "Free" raw processing program, I think I'd go with Raw Therapee.  The interface is more like what I'm used to and they seem to cover all current Pentax camera bodies, so I would expect them to support pretty much everything else.
