Nice to give these older cameras a work out, I think. I've got my MZ-S out
hoping to get a walk in soon - but 9 weeks
of chemo is not helping (and 9 to go).

Subject: I shot some film today

I decided it's about time I used up the film that's been sitting in my old film
cameras since about 2007 when I bought
my K10D.

I had one frame left on my Pentax 6x7. I'll be interested to see what was on
that film but the second-last frame (at
least) is going to be toast as I seem to recall the body has a light leak.

I used that last frame with the 165mm f/2.8 lens to take a photo of my daughter
and she ran over asking to see the photo
:D So I loaded my dummy roll of 120 to show her how film works.

After that I got the LX and fitted my 135mm f/2.5 lens... that combination felt
glorious to use. The LX somehow hadn't
developed sticky mirror, it just needed a bit of fiddling with the film-speed
dial to get the meter to work properly.
That camera is such a pleasure to use. I don't think I got any good photos but
I'll have to wait and see. I'm not used
to manually focusing on a moving subject.

I still have film in the K2 but I'll get onto that another day.

I'm actually amazed that I remembered how to work those cameras. The battery
on the 6x7 is flat and I don't remember if
it had an electronic shutter or just used the battery for the metered prism
(which I have misplaced, along with the
wooden grip).

I still have a few rolls of film in both formats (expired long ago) so maybe
I'll do some more shooting at a later date,
while I can still get it processed.

Cheers,
Dave
