Larry & Godfrey - thanks for the notion of buying a used Nikon. Not sure if I will pursue that option, but I will keep that thought in mind.
P.J. - thanks for the link to the leitax site. As I read it, their Nikon-to-Pentax conversion is just for older manual lenses. I may reconsider which if any of the Nikon lenses to hold onto. The second site you mentioned involves a modification to the camera itself, and I would be leery of that, to say the least. Even without their side comments about the reduction in WR and that, once done, the Nikon lens won’t “click” into place. stan > On Nov 26, 2017, at 1:40 PM, [email protected] wrote: > > I think that your most cost effective solution would be a used D7300 > > On November 26, 2017 8:23:24 AM PST, Stanley Halpin > <[email protected]> wrote: >> My father-in-law, who passed away in 2010, was an avid photographer. >> He, I am sure, drove the local pros crazy because he worked for >> practically nothing as the photographer for theater groups, choirs, >> corporate executive portraits etc. I have his old Leica and a couple of >> lenses; sister-in-law has the newer Leica gear.
