Hi Larry

I like the ones that you have taken a wider view. I would like to see
the bottom of the tree but without knowing what is there maybe I don't.
I also preferred those where tree is better lit.

Thanks Patrick. Maybe I will make a few more attempts at the photo, if I get a chance before the tree regains its leaves.

Last night I noticed the nice saturation of the sign at the local
movie theater. I also like the contrast with one of the trees in the
parking lot. Unfortunately the street lights didn't light the tree
well enough to get quite the effect I wanted, but I tried various
things, including multiple shots for HDR, and using a flash to
illuminate the tree and not the sign.

I think that what I'm going to need to do is to get some strobes set
up to the side of the tree, close but out of the frame, so that I can
bring up the illumination on the tree to more closely match the sign,
but not have the flat lighting of the flash mounted in the shoe.

I'm interested in feedback as to what worked in these various
attempts, what didn't, what I might try, or whether this shot is
merely a clever idea without actually being a good idea.
