I did some more googling and found out through Apples site that i need to upgrade to El Captain first and click here to get that upgrade which took me to another info, Apple, site page. It had some explanations and a link to DL El Captain. It also said this is for people who want to upgrade to Sierra but needed El Captain first. Hope this is the right one.
