I bought the Nova Sport 35L AW at the special deal price. If it weren’t so cheap I would send it back. As it is, I will keep it as a storage bag.
I have a LowePro backpack which is comfortable, holds most of my gear, [including spare batteries, chargers, cords, etc.], has a well-padded slot for a laptop, provision for strapping on a tripod. Just barely small enough (with tripod removed) to fit under the seat of the small aircraft that get me from here to a real airport with normal size planes. If I need extra space, I will travel with a carry-on suitcase and carry a lens or two and/or my back-up hard drives in a shoulder bag packed inside of the carry-on. However… I have found that I really don’t like to work out of a backpack. So the backpack is for travel, but once I arrive at a destination, for a given day-trip I will usually carry camera in hand and a small selection of lenses in my shoulder bag. Much like Mark C’s strategy of carrying everything with him in the car, then selecting the day’s tool upon arrival. If it is gong to be a long hike in and/or I am not sure which lenses I will be needing then I’ll use the backpack. But mostly not. For my shoulder bag I have an old Domke that I have had at least 10 years that was old when I bought it used here on the List. I would like something just slightly larger, and I was hoping the Nova Sport might be the answer, but it is way larger than anything I want to be carrying around, even if it were empty and weren’t filled with heavy gear. So, my bag quest continues. It would be so nice to live near a place with a large camera store with a broad range of gear that I could touch and feel and evaluate in person rather than through a website image+specs… Stan > On Jan 10, 2016, at 6:05 PM, Ken Waller <[email protected]> wrote: > > My Tamrac 728 is the smallest backpack that will carry my gear.
