I use the "mothership" strategy - take with my anything that I could
need and when I get to my destination deploy the gear that I want to
use. I keep an empty medium shoulder bag in the car that can at most
accommodate one larger and a couple of small ones, and it is what I take
in the field. That gives me the flexibility to respond to the
circumstances I find.
I haven't enven put the shoulder strap onto the Nova Sport since all I
will ever do is carry it to the car and back.

It's a well designed bag. Oddly, it subjectively appears (to me at
least) to be smaller than the Mini Trekker when it was fully loaded,
but the Nova Sport is holding 3 additional lenses (the A*200 macro,
the 400mm f5.6, and the Da 18-55). I realized that I have almost as
much in it as I used to carry in a very large Tamrac 612, which has
12 lens compartments vs the 8 in the Lowepro. The Nova Sport better
accommodates camera with lenses attached, so compartments aren't
taken up with camera bodies (which wasted some of the capacity on the
Tramrac 612), but I am still carrying a few less lenses and a lot
less miscellaneous stuff.
The only cons would be that the Nova Sport is rather light on general
purpose compartments. I still use 35mm B&W film and had to cut back
on the number of filters I packed and also added an external film bag
where I was able to pack film in the general purpose compartment of
the Mini Trekker. I still have to figure out how to fit in some of my
macro brackets and a few other items.
But still - I'm figuring that the K-1 and attached zoom should fit
where the Mz-S is now so I can see this being my main bag for a while.
