3. Spotmatic, the basis for all succeeding Pentax cameras, before the
introduction of the M series), up to the KM, KX and K1000, which were
pretty much the same camera with metering improvements and a lens mount
change. The same basic body design, (K1000 electronics can be used to
repair/replace the meter in the Spotmatic F with minor board
modifications to make them fit), with the same ergonomics, was in
production for nearly 45 years.
