I can appreciate that the K28 f/2.0 is a great lens design and a scarce and pricey Pentax lens, but I have to tell you that I haven't seen anything produced by it that made me go "WOW" or "that lens will let me do something no other lens can do". There are relatively few photos from that lens in the Pentax Photo Gallery, for example. Part of that may have to do with its cost and scarcity. But even looking at the examples that ARE there, it looks like most of them were taken well-stopped-down (therefore could probably have been DOF replicated with a f2.8 (or the superb K28 f3.5).
I used to think that faster lenses always equaled better lenses, but the K28 f3.5 and the Tele Takumar 200mm f5.6 disabused me of that fallacious thinking. You only need that extra aperture if you are shooting at that extra aperture. If the K28 f/2.0 drops into my lap I'll certainly add one to the collection, but I haven't seen anything from it that makes me want to go out and specifically desire owning it.
