Even wider, though, was the range of vehicles seen in club racing in the 60s. It was quite common to see a Mini Cooper S on the track at the same time as a Ford Galaxie 500 (not to mention Ford Cortinas). Depending on the track, either could have the edge; the Galaxie would pull away on any straights, but the Mini was far quicker through the twisty bits. You can still see this reenacted most years at the Goodwood Revival.
