Howdy,

I have a two year old Pentax MZ-10. It has a cronic problem that is very
frustrating, and I though I'd turn to usenet for help.

I got some good tips on usenet, and one chap referred me here.

Ever since I got it (new), it has had the annoying habit of eating
batteries. Two weeks after purchase, I needed new batteries. I always seem
to need batteries. The most I've ever gotten out of a pair of batteries is
7 rolls of film (24 exp). Usually 3 or 4 rolls is the max. When I bought
it, they said I should expect 10 rolls (24 exp) full flash & AF per set of
batteries. NOT!

I've had it back to where I bought it many, many times, and they've sent it
off to Pentax for a warranty claim twice, but each time it comes back 'clean'.

Now, the battery indicator sometimes shows a low battery that tests fine,
and sometimes it doesn't show a weak battery. It's like there's a
combination of a slow leak, and a wonky circuit board or something.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Can anyone give me any suggestions as
to how to proceed. I don't really want to have to buy a new camera, but it
seems to be either that, or take up watercolour painting.

From usenet, I found out about the AA Battery Grip FG. I went online
shopping, but the FG is listed as fitting the ZX camera. Anyone familiar
with the MZ-10 and Battery Grip?

Thanks,

Vic
