When I was shooting with the DS, I'd standardized on 2G SD cards. Just run them to full, put them into the card wallet when done, and pop in another. They're so cheap nowadays I wouldn't worry too much about it. Given the size of DS raw files, an 8G card is probably more than adequate. But assuming the DS works correctly with SDHC cards, you can use up to 32G cards easily.

The DS will accept SDHC cards, but the firmware needs to have been updated to version 2 (version 2.02 is the latest).

Godfrey and Brian,

Thanks. I am in good shape. As I suspected, the camera is running Ver 2.02 I have been spoiled by a Eye-Fi card my son gave me for Christmas. My normal cards are 2 GB or less and I can't remember ever filling a card up. I am guessing that 2 or 3 of the 4 GB cards (assuming that is the smallest capacity SDHC card) would be a good investment. Even though I think the Eye-Fi card is a neat trick, I don't believe it would work beyond a thousand feet or so.
