Hello All, I will be having a short vacation to a very cold part of Turkey soon. The trip with a small group covers Kars, Sarikamis, Lake Cildir and Ani Ruins; all at the easternmost part of Turkey. Most, if not all, places will be under snow and they will be visited during daytime.
I am thinking of carrying the below with me: K5, grip, two batteries, two 8GB SDHC cards. Sigma 10-20mm (early version). DA 40mm Ltd. FA 77mm Ltd. DA 55-300mm A circular polarizer for the Sigma lens. I will be shooting raw. A Panasonic Lumix LX3 will also be available (focal length range 24-60mm). I am not sure about carrying a tripod. Perhaps a monopod will just do. Questions: Should I leave the FA 77mm at home? Is there a point in getting the FA 50mm f/1.4 as well / instead? Any precautions for the equipment? (Travelling in a van, going out, shooting, coming back...) Any point in carrying a film camera? (Better rendition of snow?) Any other ideas, suggestions?
