Yes, I remember the image of the sleeping baby shot with that lens that was just spectacular. Unfortunately, they are not the same optical design. The S-M-C 28mm f3.5 is 7 elements in 7 groups, while the SMC K version is 8 elements in 7 groups. I guess that accounts for the superiority of the SMC K.
