What a fucking rock ape! (I don't swear much at all, and definitely not on list either, but that guys deserves it!)
Truck drivers and motorists in general are total wankers to cyclists. Everyone knows how much our planet would benefit if more able bodied people would take to cycling - not just at the environmental level, but our overall health would be improved, less burden on taxes/medical system as a result etc etc. My hubby and I are keen cyclists but I refuse to ride on the road anymore. I have five kids who need a mummy and I am not willing to risk my life at the ends of one of the rock apes, that somehow managed to find themselves a drivers licence in the bottom of a Cornflake box. Last year, my husband made it home, (bleeding and barely conscious) after having a FULL BEER BOTTLE thrown at the back of his head by a car of drunken teenagers, on his way home from work at 6pm on a Friday night. That was the end for me. People are DICKHEADS, and it really riles me up that they seem to think that THEY own the roads. We even have protests around the place and you see on tv, interviews with drivers saying that cyclists shouldn't be allowed on the road as they don't have a licence and don't pay car registration to assist in maintaining the roads etc. They are effing idiots, and it pisses me off no end, and I am not apologising for the language guys, cause Frank was just doing his job, and that guy needs a smack in the head himself... Broke a bone in my hand after a driver attacked me and threw me down on my bike (bent my seatpost as well!). Should be better in about a month - not a bad break, no surgery needed thank god. He cuts me off, I yell at him that I had right of way, he gets out of truck, grabs me (while I'm walking away with both hands on handlebars and 25 pounds in my backpack so I'm defenceless) and throws me to ground. I try to get plate number so he pushes me to ground again and drives away. He couldn't be traced so cops can't do a thing. I may have a claim against the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. Incident happened Friday, went to hospital Sunday and yesterday got temporary cast off and got fitted for splint. Still working, with a Metropass, riding transit and walking. Can ride again next Monday. Taking camera with me to work now, so that's a good thing! ;-) cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
