Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, let's not get into a fight, Godders! :-D Whenever I use any other camera brand I always ask myself "what were these engineers THINKING????" The Pentax location for the lens-release button seems like the only logical place for it. Hear me out. - Hold the camera as if you were shooting it. - Without letting go of the camera, extend you middle or ring finger and depress the lens-release button. - With your left hand reach under the lens, grab it, rotate it, and take it off. - Put it away, then take another lens and mount it. All the above were performed without needing to let go of the camera or even change the way you were holding it, and the lens was handled by the left hand, which performs this function when you're shooting. It's fast and secure, which is what you want when changing lenses. Any other way of (un)mounting a lens or a different location for the lens-release button is insanity as far as I'm concerned. This isn't about "the way I'm used to doing things", this is about logic. Like Nikon having you turn the lens counter-clockwise to mount it on the body, when the international convention is that to screw things IN you turn them clockwise--the person who decided this at Nikon had probably lived in a cave all their life and never, ever used a screwdriver nor opened a jar or bottle. It's about time we derailed this thread--we all seem to have run out of jokes about Paul's table. --M. -- \/\/o/\/\ --> http://WorldOfMiserere.com http://EnticingTheLight.com A Quest for Photographic Enlightenment -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
