Thanks, Rick.

Here's the color version of it:

I decided to go with b/w because I felt the circles under her eyes were distracting, and I couldn't do anything about them without over-softening, or taking away from her skin tone. I spent quite a while trying to desaturate them out, but to no avail. I thought it was still a nice portrait, but not as good as it could have been.

I like it, but after your description of her I'd like to see it in color.

  Hi all,

Went to a local BBQ festival yesterday and took some
snapshots. I saw this young lady standing in line at
one of the booths and was thought I'd try my hand at street
portraiture along the lines of Danny Santos. It's
clearly not up to his standards, but I thought it wasn't too
shabby as a first attempt. She was a much more
interesting looking girl than the photo indicates. As
the title indicates, she had alabaster skin and coal black
hair, along with bright blue eyes. She didn't resist
at all when I asked. She actually seemed pleased, if a
little embarrassed.

Up until now, I've been extremely hesitant about just
walking up to people and asking them if I can photograph
them. Turns out, people are much more willing than I
ever would've believed.

Comments, critiques, and cash gifts welcome.

Thanks,

Walt
