Except, that the aperture shutter and focus all were controlled by
different rings. Primary functions should have dedicated controls.

Here's a question for the peanut gallery: How long before someone
makes a lens that *doesn't* have a focusing ring? For casual shooters
who never take the camera off auto focus. Given the continuing drive
to shave costs wherever possible, I'll bet someone does it. My money
