I've scanned a lot of slides on my Epson all-in-one (RX500, which has a slide 
scanner built in), and a few with my light table, a macro lens, and a digital 
SLR.

The big advantage of the SLR method is that one gets a RAW file, that one can 
import into Lightroom and play with.
