It just sounds like you've been very lucky Paul. I don't own SDM lenses so can't comment on those but I do still have problems with my *ist D (buttons not working properly, happened within warranty but had no opportunity for send it in as I couldn't afford another $2100 for a second body) and my K10D had a litany of problems associated with the crooked mirror which Pentax refused to agree was a recurring problem in these bodies.
