Kodachrome is like cheese. To get the best from it you have to mature it
correctly and eat it when it's just ripe enough (although I must advise you
against eating Kodachrome of any type). The benefit for professional
photographers who shoot large amounts of it is that they can buy a single
batch of it and get absolutely consistent colour from one roll of film to
the next. I used to shoot Kodachrome and when I used the professional stuff
it was noticeably better in terms of colour and punchiness and sheer zing
than the normal stuff. Nothing wrong with the normal stuff though.
