Does anyone else who has this lens notice pronounced edge and corner softness at longer focal lengths? I notice it above 40 mm. or so. It is easiest to see if you enlarge the image. The lens performs much better in the corners at shorter focal lengths.
I am about to send Pentax my DA* 50-135 F2.8 (which won't focus automatically or manually) and my K20D (which has a defect in the sensor). I'm deciding whether to send the 16-50 as well (although if the optics are misaligned it is unlikely that the repair service can correct it). Perhaps this is normal performance for the 16-50.
