That sort of stuff is /exactly/ why I never feel comfortable on the "hot
side" of the fences with a camera up to my face. It's unnerving enough
to be out there working, eyes unblindered, during a race. OTOH, he
picked a particularly bad spot. A few milliseconds contemplation of
physics with respect to the design of that curve would've told him to
stand pretty much anywhere except where he was standing.
