I take it most people didn't like the photograph, that's fine. The other was
better.

Sure, there are professional beggars, but, on the whole, because this is all
suburban and freeway, this is not the area for them. Oakland, Berkeley, S.
F., are much more likely.

I have seen homeless/beggars, etc. on a dramatic increase in my county. Take
it as you well.

There is also a serious effort in this county to feed everyone and house
everyone. Permanent homeless are few (mentally ill type, etc.) maybe numbering
in the 100's, possibly 200's. But government and non-profit services are being
harder and harder pressed. CA, for instance, is broke.

This guy in particular, who knows? I don't.

Why is that so hard to believe it's on the increase? What do you imagine
happens to people unemployed in these times? As someone who never collected
unemployment myself, I do know casual laborers, housecleaners, etc., etc. and
many self-employed never collect it and/or don't qualify for it.

Sigh.

I can't believe people would rather tell tales about a few individuals who
are huskers than pay attention to the economic fracturing in this country.
Lift your head up and look around.

Nevermind.
-------------------
But I would suggest that those of you who do, take pictures, lots of
them, of everyone you see. You may be able to see a pattern in who's
there and what their signs say, and uncover some sort of scam.

On the other hand, you will be documenting a slice of life in the USA
during this trying time as more and more people are cast into the
streets.

Either way, it's going to be a collection worthy of your time, and
worthy of a portfolio of gallery show.
