I bought a domestic mini-DV camera with AV input (precious few around -
try finding a camera with an AV input!) so I record onto miniDV and then
digitise the footage on a DVCam deck. The mini DV camera has the benefit
of good battery life (the camera has its own batery supply) and is
fairly small so will fit in a small pack for wrapping around a
motorbikers waist or lashing in a Chinook cockpit (done both). The way
to go today would be recording straight into a portable hard drive or CF
recorder. It's all cash though....
