It's different from an optical viewfinder, no question about it, with different strengths and weaknesses. But I have to say, after working exclusively with the G1 for a few weeks, I picked up the K10D and couldn't believe how dim and small the viewfinder looked until my eyes re-accommodated. I picked up the P645 and found I couldn't focus its 75mm f/2.8 lens as easily as I could the Nikkor 20/3.5 fitted to the G1. And the G1's finder was brighter and clearer!
