You could do a lot worse than pick up a copy of Magnum Landscape, which to some extent covers both subjects. It includes traditional landscape of the type you might expect, but mainly it is about man and landscape, and people in the landscape. It's also a small book, so a good one to take on your hols. The publishers Rotovision do a series of books by 'the world's top photographers' (which I think means the publisher's friends) including Landscape by Terry Hope. They are collections of small portfolios by different photographers in which the photographers discuss their work. Plenty of interest and variety in the books in this series. For candid street photography it's difficult to beat Elliott Erwitt for wit and joie de vivre. A lot of street photographs seems to be taken from some place deep within the photographer's own arsehole, but Erwitt's are just full of pure delight. "Personal Exposures" should do the trick.
